Pre-treatment Instructions:

1. Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks (including self-tanners, tanning bed, and spray tans) – always use a minimum of SPF 50, and reapply every 2 hours.

2. Avoid topical and oral antibiotics, steroids, retinoids (Retin- A), hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide, alpha or beta hydroxyl acids (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.), and exfoliates for a minimum of 3 days prior to procedure.

3.Discontinue use of Accutane for 6 months.

4. No laser or skin treatment procedures 2-4 weeks prior.

5. No waxing, depilatory creams, tweezing, threading, or electrolysis 4 weeks prior.

6. No active cold sores. If you are prone to cold sores it is recommended to take a prophylactic. (Valtrex) 1 day prior and up to 3 days following treatment.

7. Exfoliate the area 5-7 days prior to treatment.

8. Please shave the entire area to be treated the night before treatment with a clean razor. If the area is not shaved prior we cannot treat the area.

Common Symptoms Post-Treatment:

A

Redness, mild swelling, and heat following treatment are common.

Any discomfort beyond 24 hours, we request that you contact our office for further direction.

B

Skin may feel warm to touch.

This will subside in time.

C

Small pinpoint bruising may occur from the laser therapy.

More common in those on Aspirin and herbal supplements.

D

Itching to the treatment area.

E

If blistering, pigment changes, or increased discomfort occur

Contact the office immediately for proper direction and care.

Post Procedure Instructions:

1. Ice if needed.

2. Avoid topical and oral antibiotics, retinoids, hydroquinone, and benzoyl peroxide, alpha or beta hydroxyl acids (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.), and exfoliate for a minimum of 2 days prior to procedure.

3.Exfoliate one week after treatment to help speed up the hair removal process.

4. Application of makeup is permissible after heat and redness have subsided.

5. Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks (including self-tanners, tanning bed, and spray tans) – always use a minimum of SPF 50, reapply every 2 hours.

6. Do not pick, or scratch area.

7. Keep skin hydrated (Hyaluronic Acid is strongly recommended)

8. Follow proper home care instructions customized by your technician.

9. Avoid strenuous exercise, sweating, saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and hot showers for 24-48 hours.
